Testimonials

It is important for us and yourselves to know how we are doing.  We would appreciate it if you would take your time to read some of our testimonials written by families that have placed their loved ones here with us at Winchester House, Frinton.

We were very impressed from the outset at the way Winchester cared for complex needs of a couple with Alzheimers and dementia, requiring individual, but totally differing needs.  If Leonard woke up in the early hours, he was never left alone, even if it did mean he had two breakfasts, one early and one later in the morning!

He was soon eating well, and during his illness was always given such care and attention.  He was treated with great dignity and good humour.  During his last illness, in the middle of Covid, every effort was made to ensure the level of care and comfort that he received remained high.  As a family we felt that we too were valued at this very difficult time.

We even had a carer accompany his wife to the funeral, so that she and the family felt fully supported. Winchester House have always gone the extra mile to make us feel that both of them were part of their 'family'. We never feel awkward about obtaining any information or visiting.

When considering a care home we were advised that small homes with fewer number of residents were 'like Goldust' -that advice was absolutely right.

When moving your loved ones into a residential home you need to believe they are being cared for like you would care for them.

The feeling of warmth as you enter the home, smiling faces that greet you, makes you feel secure you made the right decision at a really difficult time.  Staff that truly care, know your Mum/Nan like you know her, make time to listen to her stories, to make her favourite food and enjoy her company.

This is what Winchester House  did for our loving Mum and Nan.

Mum has been at Winchester House for two and half years. She quickly settled down and is very happy there.

As it's a small care home it has a very homely atmosphere. We have found that the care she is given has been excellent.

The Staff at Winchester House are all so friendly and very caring people. We always recommend Winchester House to anybody who asked us about this wonderful home.

My Mum has been living at Winchester House since 2017 and for us and her it is home from home.  Arifah and her Staff are always welcoming, friendly and supportive.

The home is small and intimate and we are so lucky to have found such a lovely place for Mum to spend her last years.

My Mother joined this small care home in June for end of life care, but sadly passed away in August. I am so glad we managed to find this home, she was looked after better than I could ever have done by myself.

She didn't want to leave her own home, she was soon made one of the family and enjoyed a little joke and chat with the girls. Although her stay was short, I'm sure she would have been happy there, as she told me this herself shortly before she passed away. Big thanks to all the staff.
